Colley Elevator History

Colley Elevator Company was founded by Mr. C.B. Colley in 1908 and is the oldest independent elevator company in the Chicago area. At first our focus was primarily as a servicing company, but as the elevator industry grew with the building boom in Chicago, we shifted gears and added new construction projects. This began our long term relationships with many of our current customers.

Today we service and maintain almost 3000 elevators in the greater Chicago land area. All the equipment we install is non-proprietary with onboard diagnostic systems so no special tools are needed to program or troubleshoot our systems. This means any contractor can work on it.

While many competitors have sold out to larger conglomerates, we have maintained our independent integrity. Our personal relationship with each customer is a testimonial to this integrity that you won’t get from a larger company. It’s this dedication to customer care that earned us the prestigious Elevator World Ellie for Best Contractor – North on five occasions.
