The unit uses 154 or more infrared light beams to continuously scan and detect obstructions within the elevator door&#8217;s path. If any of the detection beams are broken, it will instantly open the elevator door without touching or harming passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Another type of door scan is the 3D full door protection unit which detects people or objects as they approach the door. Similar to automatic doors at a local grocery store, the elevator door reopens before the passenger gets to the entrance.<\/p>\n<p>This devise is great to protect passengers as well as help prevent damage to the elevator&#8217;s doors. It is ideal for buildings with slow moving people, delivery people, hospitals and where heavy equipment is used.
