The keyed stop switch is to replace the traditional push/pull or toggle
stop switch that where traditionally installed until the elevator code
eliminated that option. The replacement of the manual stop switch
will eliminate the possibility of people using the elevator as their
personal elevator and/or initiating the stop switch and trapping
another passenger(s) in the car while the elevator is traveling
between floors.
This upgrade is to increase the elevator's ability to service the
building and eliminate threats to the security of the riders.
